Lennox Air Conditioners

In 1895, Dave Lennox designed, built and marketed the HVAC industry’s first riveted, steel furnace. By 1923, Lennox had expanded into a warehouse in Syracuse, New York, and two years later, a factory was added to this warehouse.
After a couple of successful decades, Lennox established operations in Canada, in 1952. At this time, the company also expanded into a line of residential central air conditioning systems. By 1960, Lennox had established an international division with a facility in Basingstoke, England as well as sales offices and warehouses in Holland and Germany.
Lennox continued its success over the 1960’s, ‘70’s and ‘80’s and in 1986, expanded into the commercial refrigeration and heat transfer markets with the establishment of Heatcraft Inc., the company’s first subsidiary. The latest innovation came in 2005 when Lennox introduced the world’s first air conditioner rated at 20+ SEER for energy efficiency.
