The Amana ASX 14 is a 14 SEER air conditioner with a high-efficiency
design. Other products are available for use with the ASX 14 that allow
it to achieve 15 SEER.
The ASX 14 features a heavy-gauge galvanized steel
louvered cabinet. It is coated with a post-paint finish that makes it
resistant to weather damage. The cabinet is designed with both top and
side access panels to allow for easy maintenance, and the filter dryer
is factory-installed for operational longevity. A PVC-coated wire grill
protects the fan and motor.
This line of air conditioner is available with a single-
or two-speed condenser fan motor. It employs Smart Coil condensing coils
with aluminum fins and copper tubing. It also is equipped with Copeland
Comfort Alert Diagnostics, which detect the cause of problems and relay
the information to technicians via LED indicator flash codes. The
high-efficiency Copeland scroll compressor is covered by a sound control
top of high density foam.
