Trane’s XR15 air conditioner is promoted by the manufacturer as a
reliable and highly efficient unit that can help homeowners benefit from
low cooling costs. Available in nine models, it has a SEER rating of
17, and qualifies as an Energy Star product when it is installed as part
of a compatible HVAC system.
The XR15 is equipped with a Climatuff compressor that is
surrounded by its own sound insulator. The Spine Fin outdoor coil, made
of aluminum, allows for the highest among of heat transference and is
designed for low air resistance. Not only is the outdoor coil resistant
to corrosion, but so are the zinc-coated Weatherguard fasteners on the
full-side louvered panels. These galvanized steel panels are part of the
Quick-Sess cabinet, which provides complete protection of the coil. For
additional assurance, the DuraTuff base pan is corrosion-resistant.
For an attractive appearance, theXR15 air conditioner is
coated with a baked-on powder paint. For further indoor comfort,
accessories including a humidifier, air cleaner and ventilator are
available. Trane also offers remote access to the home’s climate control
system, known as Nexia Home Intelligence.
